FAQs

Q1. How long will it take to sell my car online?

Once we talk on the phone and reach an agreement on the value of your car, we will arrange an onsite inspection. If we find the condition of your car is as you described, we will pay you instantly.

If the condition of your car is not as you described, we will discuss the price with you further. This could be because we believe the car’s value is affected by its history or condition, such as unusual features, customisation, excessive kilometres or service history.

Q2. Why can’t you give me an online valuation?

We pride ourselves on being straightforward and easy to deal with. With Sell Your Car Fast, you’ll get an accurate offer on your car.

Others may only provide you with an automatically generated amount that’s not a true reflection of your vehicle’s worth.

When we make an offer and your car is presented as discussed, then that offer is the price we’ll buy your car for.

Q3. How do I get paid when I sell my car?

We will pay the agreed sale price into your account by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) when we collect your car. As with all EFT payments, standard bank processing times apply. If you prefer, we can issue a bank cheque.

Q4. What do I need to have with me for the inspection?

We need to establish that the person selling the vehicle is its owner. That’s why we need you to have the following:

  • Photo ID with your name and address. We recommend your driving license.
  • Registration papers
  • All sets of car keys
  • Service log book
  • Your bank account details

If your vehicle has any finance outstanding, we will require a letter with the settlement figure from the finance company.

When we book your appointment, we will confirm all items and paperwork you need to have with you.
Please don’t forget to take all your personal belongings from the car prior to your appointment.

Q5. Can I sell my car if it’s on finance in Australia?

We will arrange settlement of any outstanding finance on your car. Please note that you will need to provide an up-to-date letter detailing a current settlement figure from your finance company. We can help you with this process.

Q6. Can I sell a car on behalf of someone else?

Yes. If you are selling on behalf of a relative or friend you will need to bring the following to your appointment:

  • A letter of authorisation from the owner containing the bank account that the funds are to be paid into.
  • Photo ID with your name and address. We recommend your driving license.
  • A copy of Photo ID of the registered owner of the vehicle
Q7. Can I sell a car on behalf of a company?

Yes. If you are selling on behalf of a company, you will need to bring the following to the appointment:

  • A letter signed by the company director giving authorisation for you to sell on their behalf
  • A tax invoice
  • Photo ID with your name and address if you are the person acting on behalf of the company
  • Registration papers
  • All sets of car keys
  • Service log book
  • Your bank account details
Q8. I am not the owner of the vehicle. Will you pay money into my bank account?

Yes. If you are acting as an agent on behalf of the legal owner of the car, then we will make a payment to the bank account as instructed by the legal owner. We will require the following documentation at the time of the appointment:

  • A letter of authorisation from the owner containing the bank account that the funds are to be paid into
  • Photo ID with your name and address. We recommend your driving license.
